I've decided to pull Kostya from the release schedule completely.
This was a not-so-fun decision to make.
Kostya has been sitting in my Dropbox folder, completed and bright and shiny and ready to go for weeks.
Except it doesn't feel ready to go.
Complete but not complete.
This book is not the book I want it to be. It's not the book YOU deserve, especially not after waiting so long.
I've made a LOT of mistakes in my writing career, but the one I never want to make is publishing a book that falls short of amazing.
I don't want good. Or good enough. I want grabs-your-heart, steals-your-breath, makes-your-stomach-flutter amazing.
Kostya and Holly deserve a story like that.
And you deserve a book like that.
And Kosyta just isn't there.
I wanted it to be there. I've been trying to convince myself it's there. I set the Aug 31 release date. I got it back from edits. I had it formatted. I even uploaded it to retailers.
But I couldn't hit publish.
Because it's not right. It's just not ready.
So instead of causing an ongoing backlog of projects while I rewrite the book (again!), I'm taking Kostya off the schedule and moving forward with Alexei, Collateral 2, the Loan Shark sequels, the rest of the Emma serial (that I write as Lo) and Raze (also a Lo book) plus the Men of Moscow and Markovic MMA prequel/short novel.
All of these are written (except for Raze) and are just hanging out in a Dropbox folder waiting for Kostya.
But no more waiting.
It's time to wipe the slate clean and move forward with books that I am proud of and that are grab-your-heart, steal-your-breath and make-your-stomach-flutter amazing.
*Random side note: We have three boxes of mail, ordered tees and giveaway prizes going out on Thursday. If you won something but didn't send an address, this is your last chance for the September mailing.*
